The PlimSoul mkII is an upgraded take on Fulltone’s original distortion pedal of the same name and still offers that priceless and revolutionary individual soft- and hard-clipping control — but now with a plethora of improvements. An increase in the input impedance sharpens leveling precision, while new germanium diodes within the hard-clipping control circuit mean vastly improved tonality at all intensities. Guitarists at Fulltone are also digging the new brighter Treble control as well as a 3-way Bass switch that injects loss-less body to your distorted tone without hindering the signal quality. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg! Two classes of clipping

Fulltone’s top-tier and flexible distortion tone comes from an expertly engineered circuit designed with two stages of clipping to emulate the energy and warm sonics of a tube amp pushing its limits. Beside its large Volume control is the Soft-clip control; it offers a rounder and more subtle breakup with a lot of compression and less overall gain. Its opposing clipping control is the smaller Hard-clip knob, which clips with a much harsher cut and, as a result, sounds more like the natural effect of a tube rectifier within an amp. This circuit is now truly independent, allowing users to maximize the effect of one clipping style regardless of the selected stage of the other.

A uniquely designed 2-band EQ neighbors the Hard-clip control, supplying a Bass section with a 3-way selector for Minimum, Half, and Maximum intensities. This new feature allows you to boost the low end of your signal to give your chosen blend of hard and soft clipping the most appropriate degree of low-frequency authority within the mix at hand. A miniature Treble dial offers brighter treble control than the previous PlimSoul model and sits just to the right of the Bass selector, ready to adhere to similar sonic principles on the top end but with more fluid motion.

The original PlimSoul was revolutionary, but the mkII offers a more polished performance ready for any live or recording application you throw its way. Aside from its improved Treble and Bass controls, the PlimSoul mkII’s new top-mounted jacks include an input impedance of 700K+ ohms, allowing for even greater functionality with the Volume control than its 500K+ predecessor. Additionally, the inclusion of dual germanium diodes tied to voltage reference for the hard-clipping control promises remarkable tone and distorted effecting at any intensity.
